The high cost of tickets for the concert scheduled to be performed by the Syrian artist Samo Zain in Sudan, on February 14, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, sparked widespread controversy in Sudanese circles.

The organizer of the ceremony announced the highest ticket price for the ceremony at 180,000 Sudanese pounds, regarding $300.

The value of Zain’s concert tickets is the highest in the history of mass concerts that Arab artists performed earlier in Sudan.

Since Samo Zain arrived in the country, there has been a debate on social media, between those who reject and support his concert, in contrast to the high ticket price.

Some denounced the ceremony, despite the earthquake that occurred in Turkey and Syria, which left thousands dead.

And one of them wrote, commenting on the value of the concert ticket, saying: “The price of the ticket for the Valentine’s Day party reached 400 dollars.. Ah, the growth of what came to sing in Khartoum, which smells like pampas and is stained with the blood of martyrs.”

He added, “This land is ours.. How many hungry people died there, and from illnesses without treatment. We receive 500 pounds on it in order to do an examination with it and to buy a respirator.”

Another said: “There are bourgeois people who live their lives.. God bless them, let them enjoy themselves, and they can walk anywhere.. By 180 others, they are their lives.”

He continued, “I would like to invite you to attend our parties at the Officers’ Club, Abu Khamsa. What is your money and their money?”

On the other hand, a number of social stars in Sudan published their invitation cards to attend the ceremony by the organizing party through their pages on the social networking site “Facebook”.

Fatima Al-Sadiq, the general manager of Al-Balad channel and the media, commented, saying: “People walk and rejoice.
