The US Embassy in Khartoum confirmed that Ambassador John Godfrey and two embassy staff were slightly injured following they were involved in a traffic accident on Wednesday evening.
The statement, reported by the Sudanese News Agency, “SUNA,” added that “Ambassador Godfrey was taken to his home to rest.”
The statement confirmed that the US ambassador and his team suffered only minor injuries, indicating that observance of privacy does not allow further comment at the present time.
