The point of no return appears to have been reached, with Burhan and Dagalo each demanding the other surrender and blocking the transitional relaunch deal.

The Security Council is due to meet on Monday to propose a solution to the crisis. After the Arab League and theAfrican UnionTHE UNITED STATES and the United Kingdom called on Monday for an “immediate cessation” of the violence.
