Amid continuing clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, satellite images showed the damage and destruction left by the air raids in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

Satellite images from the international airport inside the city revealed destroyed planes and burnt buildings nearby, according to Archyde.com.

The photos, published by Maxar, also showed roadblocks near the White Nile Bridge and damage to one of the city’s four main hospitals.

Against the backdrop of the clashes, many airlines have suspended their flights to Khartoum.

Clashes have been taking place since last Saturday between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum, and other regions of the country, while media outlets quoted the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Volker Peretz, as saying that the clashes have killed 180 people and injured 1,800 others so far.

Both sides claimed gains on Monday as smoke rose in the capital, Khartoum, and residents reported the sound of air strikes, artillery fire and gunfire that cut off basic services and damaged hospitals in a city unaccustomed to violence.
