France renews its deep concern over the ongoing clashes in Sudan since April 15, which have led to the death of around a hundred civilians as well as several humanitarian workers. France is following the situation with the greatest vigilance, particularly with regard to the security of its nationals, for which our embassy and the crisis and support center of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs are mobilized.
France reiterates its call on the commanders of the army and the Rapid Support Forces to cease the fighting, accept a truce in order to ensure the safety of civilians and humanitarian workers and to allow safe and unhindered humanitarian access, as well as to work towards de-escalation with a view to a lasting ceasefire.
France expresses its support for the mobilization of Sudan’s regional and international partners with a view to seeking a way out of the crisis. Only the return to an inclusive political process, leading to the appointment of a civilian transitional government and general elections, can permanently resolve this crisis.
