In order to promote sports in children and young people, the Sucre State Basketball Association held a press conference to present new training and educational projects.
Antonio Tineo, president of the sports institution, explained that they are working on a new program called “Basketball goes to school”, which is aimed at all basic education houses in the region.
“The idea is to give sports clinics, training talks and provide support material to the physical education teachers of the institutions to promote this discipline in the students, in order to create better habits in them.”
He highlighted that they will participate as a Sucre team in the U12 category, in the national competition that will take place on the island of Margarita, at the end of November.
He pointed out that they are preparing with commitment to leave the name of the state high and come with positive results.

These projection initiatives are part of what has been the new corporate image of the association, which is why at the meeting with the media they also presented the logo that will now represent them, with an innovative and creative concept.
For his part, Delio Centeno, director of Communications, explained that this graphic work is being carried out by Social Communication students from the Santa Rosa Catholic University, as part of their internships.

**Interview with Juan Martinez, Director of the Sucre State Basketball Association**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Juan. Can you tell us a bit about what prompted the press conference hosted by the Sucre State Basketball Association?
**Juan Martinez:** Thank you for having me. Our main goal with this press conference was to announce our new training and educational projects aimed at promoting basketball among children and young people in the Sucre State. We believe that sports play a vital role in youth development, and we’re excited to share our plans for this upcoming season.
**Editor:** That sounds promising! What specific programs or initiatives do you have in mind for the youth?
**Juan Martinez:** We have several initiatives in place. Our primary focus is on establishing after-school basketball clinics that will not only teach the fundamentals of the game but also emphasize teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. We’re also planning workshops for coaches to ensure that they are equipped to foster young talent effectively.
**Editor:** It must be rewarding to see the community’s response. How do you envision the impact of these programs on local youth?
**Juan Martinez:** Absolutely! We’re hopeful that these programs will provide a constructive outlet for many young people, keeping them engaged in physical activity while also teaching them valuable life skills. Our aim is to build a basketball culture within the community that encourages participation at all levels.
**Editor:** That’s an inspiring vision! Are there any partnerships or collaborations that will support these initiatives?
**Juan Martinez:** Yes, we are actively seeking partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and even former players like Joe Dawson, to leverage their experience and inspire our youth. Collaborating with established figures in the sport will add tremendous value to our programs.
**Editor:** Joe Dawson’s background is quite impressive. How do you think his experience as a professional player could motivate the young athletes in your program?
**Juan Martinez:** Joe’s journey from high school basketball to the professional league is truly inspiring. Sharing his story can motivate our youth to dream big and work hard. We plan to have him participate in events and workshops, where he can share insights and experiences directly with the kids.
**Editor:** Thank you for sharing this information, Juan. It sounds like the Sucre State Basketball Association is making significant strides toward supporting young athletes. We look forward to seeing how the programs develop!
**Juan Martinez:** Thank you! We appreciate your support and hope to see positive changes in our community through basketball.
