HBO’s “Succession” led the Emmy Awards nominations on Wednesday, with 27 nominations for its final season.

The series deals with the violent struggle for control of a family media empire, starring Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook.

The two-time winner of the best drama award competes this year for the third prize with The Last of Us, which is also broadcast by HBO, and has garnered 24 nominations.

Also nominated are House of the Dragon, Andor, Better Call Saul, Yellowjackets, The Crown and The White Lotus.

Two-time Emmy Award winner for Best Series, Ted Lasso will compete for Outstanding Comedy Series once morest Abbott Elementary and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Bear, Barry, Jury Duty, Only Murders in the Building, and Wednesday.

The announcement of the awards comes amid a strike by screenwriters in Hollywood, and fears that the actors will join the strike, which may delay the Emmy ceremony, which is usually held in September.
