The member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party (PCV) and president of the National Assembly of Vietnam, concluded his visit to Cuba on April 22, following an intense day of work in Havana and Santiago de Cuba. A tour that can be considered very successful and where the historic bilateral ties were strengthened in the political-diplomatic, economic-commercial and investment, security-defense, as well as people-to-people exchange order.
It can be said that it has been a comprehensive visit and an expression of the special and traditional friendship between both nations.
The Vietnamese legislative leader received the highest honors and was received by the highest figures, that is, the historical leader Raúl Castro, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president Miguel Díaz Canel, the prime minister Manuel Marrero and the President of the National Assembly of Popular Power (ANPP) and of the Council of State, Esteban Lazo Hernández.
At the invitation of the latter, the president of the National Assembly of Vietnam (ANV), Vuong Dinh Hue, was the first senior foreign leader not only to congratulate the new Cuban leaders following the establishment of the X legislature of the ANPP, but also also in offering a speech in Parliament in extraordinary session.
The honors with which the Vietnamese parliamentary leader was received can be classified with those of a head of state, which determines how special bilateral relations are. The visit and the gestures made both during his stay in Havana and in Santiago de Cuba were very significant. It is necessary to understand the meaning that this type of attitude between two countries and their peoples have for both nations, and for international relations.
Vuong Dinh Hue tour came in a year of celebrationsjust within the framework of the 62nd anniversary of the Victory of Girón, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Cuban Committee of Solidarity with Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of Fidel’s historic visit to the Quang Tri liberated zone as the first head of Government[1].
The also member of the Political Bureau of the PCV carried out important central activities by exchanging with his Cuban counterpart in which he took the opportunity to award Esteban Lazo Hernández with the Ho Chi Minh Order, as well as with the Order of Friendship, the secretary of the Council of State and of the ANPP, Homero Acosta Hernández, and the president of the Foreign Relations Commission of the ANPP and president of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association (AACV), Yolanda Ferrer Gómez, one of the founders of the Cuban Committee of Solidarity with South Vietnam that precisely in 2023 celebrates its 60th anniversary.
