Subsystem for Android with 50 percent more speed

With the recent update of the Windows Subsystem for Android, the frame rate performance on x64 computers might be improved by 50 percent. The security updates from Android 13 have also been added.

Microsoft has released an update to the Windows Subsystem for Android for Insider program participants. The new version with the identifier 2301.40000.4.0 offers various improvements and above all more speed. Like Microsoft via Insider Blog communicates, the subsystem update can offer a 50 percent better frame rate performance on Intel and AMD x64 processors. With ARM chips, there should still be a performance advantage of 10 to 20 percent.

In addition, the update offers better latency and higher reliability for audio input, camera metadata can be passed to new apps and an error when zooming out in apps has been fixed. In addition to improvements in platform stability and the change to Chromium WebView version 108, the update also includes the security updates from Android 13. (rd)
