The Congress of Peru convened a parliamentary commission this Friday to vote on the final report of the constitutional complaint once morest President Pedro Castillo for alleged treason.
The president of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, Lady Camones, of Alianza Para el Progreso (APP), summoned the legislators who are members of the body for this November 11 with the aim of holding the vote.
Castillo faces an accusation for the alleged violation of the Constitution (articles 32, 54, 110 and 118, in paragraphs 1, 2 and 11) and by crime of treasonas an attack on national integrity, typified in article 325 of the Penal Code, which condemns “anyone who practices an act aimed at subjecting the Republic, in whole or in part, to foreign domination or making a part of it independent.” ».

The convocation of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations occurs in the midst of tensions between the Legislative and the Executive. Likewise, there is tension due to the mobilization held this Thursday in the vicinity of the National Congress to give support to Castillo and request the closure of Parliament.
The Taking of Lima, as the march was called, led to the suspension of the session that Congress had scheduled for this Thursday.
