American pancake

First of all, it’s important to say that if you’ve never eaten this version of pancakes, it’s very different from the version we know more often in Brazil.

That’s because it gets fluffier and most of the time it’s made in the sweet version.

I confess that I simply love starting my days with this type of pancake.

Stuffing for the pancake

I thought I mightn’t love this type of pancake any more until I tried this stuffed version. Without a doubt, it is a delight to be surprised by a creamy filling.

In this version I chose chocolate and it was perfect. But I might have added hazelnut cream, jam and even fruit.

To facilitate my preparation, I made small melted chocolate discs and froze them, so it was super easy to fill. And my advice is to do it yourself, if you choose hazelnut cream or jelly.

In the case of fruits, because they are firmer, it is super easy to add without the need for freezing beforehand.

Tips for a fluffy pancake

Making this pancake is very easy. To make the dough you won’t need anything more than a bowl, a fouet (which helps to leave the dough with more air) and measuring cups and spoons.

In addition, you can follow some tips, such as:

  • Check if your yeast is active. Yeast plays an essential role in this recipe, so do a test to confirm that it is still active. For this, mix 1 tsp together with hot water. If it bubbles, you can use it;
  • Use measuring cups and spoons. In fact, these are essential items for following most recipes and ensuring they turn out well. Here the balance of ingredients will allow your pancake to be perfect;
  • Beat the dough a little. Mainly following adding the wheat flour;
  • Use a non-stick frying pan. This will definitely make your pancakes easier to prepare. Anyway, I always like to add a little oil to grease my frying pan;
  • Cook your pancakes over low heat.. That way you give your flour time to cook before your pancakes get too golden;
  • Consider making small pancakes. That’s because the smaller the volume of pasta, the faster it will cook;
  • Leftover pancake? Store in an airtight container and heat for a few seconds, either in the microwave or in a covered skillet.

Notes

You can choose the chocolate you prefer. Around here we use milk, since the pasta doesn’t get that sweet.
