#Studio3. Lyon singer Maïté Merlin displays her rock in French

Maïté Merlin is a poetic and rock singer. She performs three titles from her new album “Echappée” in #studio3.

She hid behind the pseudonym of Hoxy More for a while. Today under her real name of Maïté Merlin, she continues in her own way to marry opposites. This is the very definition of an oxymoron. Thus for the cover of her first album under her name, she appears with boxing gloves holding a bouquet of roses. But on closer inspection, you will find that the roses are faded.

Who will win in this fight, the flower or the boxing? Gentleness or combat? Both, it seems, when you take the time to look into the universe of this artist. Maïté Merlin defines her work as poetic rock songs. This rock feeling dominates when you hear him sing. It evokes the rock of the 2000s, Mademoiselle K or Noir Désir, but also Jacques Brel or Mc Solaar.

From Jacques Brel, we hear in these songs an energy that rises over the music and ends in a cry. From Black desire, a feeling of revolt. And the lady plays with a solid voice. Coming from Saône et Loire, she trained at the National School of Music (ENM) in Villeurbanne. A practice of the early scene, an apprenticeship first of the piano then of the guitar helped her to build her work as an author, composer interpreter. Surrounded by her band of well-established boy musicians, she delivers effective songs with sharp, sometimes scratchy lyrics.

Stretch the time so that the moments when we are well do not stop
