Students from the Fukuoka School of Medical Technology at the Fukuoka Campus participated in the Omuta Daijayama Festival

On Saturday, July 27, 2024, 33 volunteer students, faculty and staff from Teikyo University’s Fukuoka School of Medical Technology participated in the Omuta Daijayama Festival, held in the center of Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Our faculty aims to develop human resources who can contribute to local medical care, and as part of our contribution to the community, we participated in the Ten Thousand Man General Dance, one of the festival programs. All participants from our university wore red happi coats and paraded through the main street, which had been turned into a pedestrian zone. This year, at the beginning of the general dance, we danced to “Clear Boogie Woogie Ondo,” choreographed by Ageha Bijo, a charismatic figure in the Bon Odori world, as the start of Clear Asahi’s nationwide caravan campaign. After that, we danced happily and energetically with local residents to the traditional songs “Tanko Bushi” and “Daijayama Bayashi,” with smiles on our faces.
After the general dance ended, the Gion Rokuzan Procession, Competition and Otome took place, creating a lively atmosphere.
The Fukuoka School of Medical Technology will continue to actively engage in regional collaboration.
