Within the framework of the research development program of the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura, the first-year students exhibited the bibliographic research works carried out in the Cellular and Molecular Biology subject, the first course in the staggered development of competencies in research through experiential learning.

The activity, supervised by Dr. Richard Zapata Dongo, had as its objective the development of bibliographic search skills and critical judgment of the students and that they support their work with scientific support, before an evaluation jury.

In total, 148 students participated in 16 groups. The same number of investigations had the advice of professors Paulo Santayana, Jhonathan Benites, Julio Poterico, José Matta, Ivon Nuñez, Esther Valencia, María Eguiluz and Richard Zapata.

The exhibition was made through infographics. The judges visited each station, where the students presented their research, answered questions and received feedback.

In this exhibition, the students demonstrated their commitment and dedication to the acquisition of scientific research skills, and their ability to address relevant issues in the field of medicine.

Throughout their career, Human Medicine students will conduct annual research in the courses Parasitology, Research Methodology II, Medical Clinic I and II, Epidemiology, and Comprehensive Community Care.
