A student of an autotechnical college died in a hurricane in Kursk, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. According to the Telegram channel Readovka, a student died in a hostel: he was killed by fragments of broken window glass. According to the channel, fragments also injured other students in the hostel.
“Unfortunately, a student of the Kursk Autotechnical College became a victim of bad weather. We are awaiting further information from law enforcement agencies later. We express our condolences to the family and friends,” the press service of the Kursk region administration told TASS. According to Readovka, the deceased was born in 2004. According to the Mash channel, the student was wounded in the stomach by a window frame.
In several districts of the Kursk region on September 18, a downpour began with a thunderstorm and squally wind, which tore off the roofs of houses. Due to bad weather, 87 settlements were left without electricity. The Ministry of Emergency Situations warned that the wind with gusts up to 22 m/s will remain in the region until September 19.
