Three people, including a doctor, have been arrested in connection with the death of a student following an injection at a private clinic in Nadapuram. Dr Salahuddin, managing director and pediatrician at a private clinic called Nucleus Clinic, was arrested along with his managing partner Rashid from Mudavantheri and Shani from Nurse Perot. The action was taken following the death of Tejdev (12), son of Padikalakandi Rajeesh, a native of Kakat Vattoli.
The tragic incident took place on February 14. The child came to the clinic with his mother to seek treatment for mucus. Tejdev was later admitted and vaccinated. The boy was rushed to a hospital in Thalassery but could not save his life. The relatives had lodged a complaint with the Nadapuram police alleging that the child’s death was due to a mistake made by the clinic staff.
