Student arrested for terrorist threat – Telemundo San Antonio (60)

SAN ANTONIO – A 14-year-old minor was arrested in connection with terrorist threats against a school and made through a social network.

This was reported this Friday by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) as part of an extensive report with the findings of the investigation.

On October 1, 2024 BCSO assisted the East Central Independent School District Police Department (ECISD PD) with a possible terrorist threat directed at East Central High School.

According to the report, the threat was linked to an Instagram post that showed weapons with the message “East Central CAST and South Campus, here I come.”

School District Police received reports from two students regarding the post, which was allegedly made by a student at East Central High School.

The report indicates that although the 14-year-old student denied posting the image, investigators detained him while the investigation continued throughout the night.

Ultimately, when investigators presented the case to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined that the student’s participation did not meet the elements of a criminal charge and the student was released shortly thereafter.

However, the student remained suspended from campus.

BCSO investigators identified the IP address used in connection with the posts, which was traced to a residence in Schertz, Texas.

Additionally, the IP address was registered to the mother of a 14-year-old ECISD student.

On October 3, BCSO investigators executed a warrant and seized the child’s phone, which matched the phone number linked to the Instagram account.

This Friday, BCSO agents arrested the minor for terrorist threats.

Noticias 60 Telemundo is waiting for Instagram to express itself regarding this case.
