“It’s not easy because everything has increased and you have to be careful every time at all costs,” the mother of four told CNEWS.
Compared to the previous year, the prices of school supplies increased by 11.3%. “This increase is due to inflation and the increase in the prices of raw materials and the cost of energy,” assured Julien Le Coore, the manager of the store where the mother was looking to do good business.
The resourcefulness above all
The overall price increase does not make this mother’s task any easier, despite the allowance she recently received.
“I don’t think it’s enough for the four children because following the supplies, we also have shoes and clothes to buy, so we have to take money out of our pockets,” said the mother. on CNEWS.
Therefore, any savings are good to take for the latter. “I bought a bag for only one of my children. For the others, we kept their bag from last year for this new year,” concluded Mimi.
According to a report by the trade union confederation of families, parents will have to spend between 900 and 1,700 euros on average for the schooling of a single child this year.
