The Ministry of Energy and Hydraulic Resources, indicated that the Government of the Transition will work to operationalize the Water Law (law 11/23 of November 19, 2023) through the implementation implementing texts and the implementation of study projects for a better “knowledge of our surface and underground water resources” with a view to better visibility for investors and development partners.

The work, whose delivery is planned for this year, will serve approximately 115,000 inhabitants,” indicated for his part, Lehman Sandoungout, Director General of the Gabon Energy and Water Company (SEEG).

World Water Day in Gabon was celebrated in partnership with UNESCO, under the theme: “Water for Peace”. In his speech, Eric Voli Bi, representative of the UN institution in Gabon, said that it “trained 51 professionals to improve water security in Gabon. These training courses strengthened capacities in water resources assessment, integrated water resources management, hydrology, drilling, water purification, intelligent water management, as well as in the areas transversal activities such as project management and prevention of environmental risks”.
