Strong weekly performance for Gulf stocks

Stocks in the GCC countries recorded a strong weekly performance. UAE stocks recorded gains for the third week in a row, led by banking, real estate, utilities and communications stocks.

The Dubai market rose in five sessions by 0.63% to the level of 3994.54 points, while the Abu Dhabi market rose by 0.28% to the level of 9575.34 points.

The Saudi market index, TASI, ended the week’s trading with an increase of 2.23%, closing at 11,082 points, compared to the previous week’s closing at 10,841 points.

In Kuwait, the general market index ended the week’s trading at an increase of 1.66%, closing at 6642.26 points, compared to the previous week’s close at 6533.29 points.

In Bahrain, the Bahrain General Index ended the week’s trading at an increase of 1.49%, closing at 1946.52 points, compared to the previous week’s closing at 1917.86 points.

In Qatar, the Qatar Stock Exchange index rose by 2.45% over 5 sessions, closing at 10,221.48 points. In the Sultanate of Oman, the Muscat Stock Exchange index rose 1.77% during 5 sessions, closing at 4619.36 points.

Outside the Gulf region, the Egyptian Stock Exchange index rose 0.28%, closing at 24,383.27 points, compared to the previous week’s close at 24,312.92 points.
