Strong pick-up in the second half against Hammarby – BP

A 1-3 deficit at half-time became 3-3 at full time after BP stood for an impressive pick-up and change of scene against Hammarby IF away on Monday evening. Nikola Vasic secured the points with two goals in the second half, which at the same time made him our historical top scorer in the Allsvenskan.

BP came to be game with a change in the starting eleven from the victory against Halmstads BK. Hlynur Karlsson got to make his first start when he replaced André Calisir. The team had a tough start to the match when a quick Hammarby attack in the fifth minute gave them a 1-0 lead. However, BP was able to respond immediately when the equalizer was steered into an own goal by the Hammarby defense after a pass from Alex Timossi Andersson.

However, it was Hammarby who would regain the lead and it was with a quick conversion when Nahir Besara found Bouzomana Toure in the deep and free with Fabian Mrozek could be rolled in 2-1. Before half an hour had been played, Hammarby had extended it to 3-1 when the BP defense failed to clear the ball, Toure scoring for the second time.

BP plays though good and doesn’t back down despite three behind goals. The team continues to drum and for the second half, Daleho Irandust is replaced and gives some extra energy offensively. Just four minutes into the second half, BP must reduce. Adam Jakobsen makes a fine performance on the left wing and comes to an end that is saved by Warner Hahn, but the rebound lands in front of Nikola Vasic who can roll in 3-2 in an open goal. BP gets a lot of energy and takes over the match picture with great dominance.

The BP game shall result in an equalizer and it’s beautiful to see how Alexander Jensen finds a nice deep ball from his own half and frees Nikola Vasic who elegantly lobs the ball over Warner Hahn. 3-3 and BP has bids for more.

Both teams get a few stray chances before the final whistle, but the two in-form teams have to share the points. For BP’s part, the home match against BK Häcken awaits on Sunday 18 August 14:00, then we fill Grimsta in the hunt for three nice points. Buy a ticket at bp.ebiljett.nu
