Strong earthquake shakes El Salvador early this Thursday – Diario La Página

A strong tremor of 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale originating in Nicaragua also shook El Salvador, during the early hours of this Thursday.

The earthquake had its epicenter off the coast of Nicaragua, 85 kilometers south of Las Tunas beach.

According to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN), the depth of the telluric movement, which occurred at 3:23 am, was 65 kilometers.

Likewise, according to the instrumental intensity map shared by MARN, the tremor was felt on a scale of IV in all the departments, with the exception of those in the western area.
