Strong earthquake off Maré

An earthquake recorded at a magnitude of regarding 7 took place this Thursday morning southeast of Maré, other tremors being noted later on the side of New Caledonia. No tsunami warning.



It was recorded at 7:56 a.m., at a magnitude of 6.9 for theUnited States Geological Survey (USGS) while the seismological network of Caledonia rates it at 6.7. The Civil Security, on the other hand, directly evokes a magnitude of 7, giving 8:04 a.m. as a schedule. In short, it is a major earthquake that occurred this Thursday morning, southeast of Maré, ten kilometers below sea level. The USGS places it regarding 280 kilometers from Tadine . But no proven tsunami risk, as confirmed by the Captain Patrick Delwiche of Civil Security.
