Stromae spoiled the upcoming collaboration between Angèle and Orelsan

Last mid-October, La DH had heard of a collaboration that was to make noise, that between Angèle and Orelsan. A duo ! The question was then to know on which album the title was going to be released since neither the Brussels woman nor the rapper had yet released their new respective records. Since, Ninety-Five and Civilisationwhich are both a hit, have been released and neither of them contain the collaboration in question.

Was it a false rumor, a hoax? Nay. In an interview granted to Brut via a live on TikTok, Stromae clearly confirmed this collaboration between Angèle and Orelsan. At the turn of a question regarding the absence of publication of his texts in the covers of his albums, the singer confided that writing was not a cakewalk for him. He then started talking regarding Orelsan. “I compared my way of writing with that of Orelsan, because often, when I block on my texts, I call him. That’s what I did for Multitude. He came and showed me how he wrote. Frankly, it’s impressive. He really goes a long way.”

This is where Angèle invited herself into the discussion. “We compared our ways of working, Angèle, him and me. He told me that when he worked with Angèle, she told him: ‘Here, me, when I write, I start to write, that’s all: first phase, second phase, rhyme…’ Orelsan, he makes endless notes. He will look very far. Me, I’m also looking but I’m quick with my dictionary of synonyms and my dictionary of rhymes.

Angèle and Orelsan therefore worked together. Stromae blunder who said too much, caught in the game of questions and answers? Hard to believe as we know his ability to keep secrets.

It remains to be seen on which title the two artists worked together since it does not appear on their new respective albums. Is it an upcoming single or a title from the soundtrack of the new Asterix film shot by Guillaume Canet like La DH hypothesized last October? Because the rapper as the Belgian are both on the poster of this feature film.

During this live on TikTok, Stromae also returned to some of his collaborations during his long absence, in particular on the title “The rain” which appears on Orelsan’s album which preceded Civilisation. “This piece was already done since Square root… In any case, my part was already done. Wrote his verses to him followingwards,” he confided. “When we met once more, he told me ‘Do you remember, you had done something and everything? and he told me regarding ‘The Rain’. ‘Ah yes, this piece. I had already forgotten regarding it. Boom! I make him listen. There he began to write on it. Me, I had tried to write on it, but my song sucked. He was really better.”
