While Stromae canceled three new concerts yesterday because of his “state of health”, a week following having already canceled three dates in France for the same reasons, what harm does the artist have?
But what happens to Stromae? After having already canceled three dates in France last week for “medical reasons”, Stromae yesterday gave up performing at the Zenith in Nantes a few hours before his performance, announcing in passing the cancellation of his three concerts in Nantes. An announcement, once more made by its production, in a laconic message shared by the Zénith de Nantes. “Stromae’s state of health once more does not allow him to perform the three concerts scheduled for this week at the Zenith in Nantes, from March 29 to 31. We are therefore forced to cancel these three performances”, explained the company Auguri Productions.
A few words that challenge, bringing back to the fore the memory of the burnout and depression that the artist went through. For the record, the mega star had decided to put himself on the sidelines of the music scene in 2016, following two successful albums – Cheese and Racine Carré – and a mega tour which had exhausted him physically and morally. After six years of absence, Stromae
made his big comeback in March 2022, with a new album “Multitude”, which he has been defending on stage ever since.
Stromae does not react
For his part, the 38-year-old Belgian singer does not react. Since the announcement of the six cancellations, the interpreter of “So we dance”, “All the same” and “Papaoutai” remains silent. Not a message was posted on the networks by the artist, even though on March 21, a day before his first cancellation at the Zenith in Strasbourg, Stromae greeted the Belgian public following three concerts in Brussels. A silence that preoccupies and cultivates mystery.
For the time being, no other cancellation has been announced and the artist, winner of a Victoire de la Musique last February, is due to perform on April 13, 14 and 15 in Amsterdam. He will then be back in France on April 20 and 21 in Toulouse, before flying to Switzerland, England, Germany, Italy and once more France for three dates at the end of May in Lyon. A very sustained pace, which had harmed the artist in 2016.
