This Thursday, October 19, the show “Le Grand Cactus” will not be broadcast on Tipik. It is postponed to Thursday December 7 due to the strike hitting the regional headquarters of RTBF. Instead, the public media broadcasts “Next”, a show by Guillermo Guiz.
Axelle Pollet, spokesperson for RTBF, explained in a press release that management regretted that the production of the show had been blocked. She explains that “the contracts which are at the center of the strike led by the CGSP are replacement contracts managed in compliance with the legislative framework which is imposed on the RTBF”. It also specifies in the press release that none of the contracts have been terminated but that they have simply expired. The public media also explains that “the use of independents or freelancers is inherent to audiovisual production” and that the situation is identical in other media.
