Strict action against drinking and illegal acquisition of CPM leaders; MV Govindan

The CPM state leadership is under the watchful eye of discipline in the party once more. State Secretary MV Govindan said that there are wrong tendencies in the party and the party will not tolerate anything that is not accepted by the people. It has been decided to tighten measures once morest alcohol consumption and illegal acquisition of property.

The CPM state committee discussed and approved the document titled “Urgent Duties in the Organizational Field”. Again CPM assesses that the deterioration of the society affects the party as well. The CPM’s action is also in the context of the news regarding the drinking of the SFI leader who returned from participating in the anti-drug campaign and the complaints regarding drug use in the university college. Illegal acquisition of assets by leaders will also be checked.

CPM also feels that the habit of drinking is increasing among party workers and leaders. The leadership has also received complaints that even the workers at the lower level are undeservedly acquiring huge wealth. The CPM state secretary appreciated the actions of the government and the ministers, but the party intervened in these circumstances. MV Govindan said that the ministers are working in a good manner.

A campaign will be conducted in all the houses of Kerala seeking opinion regarding the government. The anti-people positions of the central government will be presented before the people. MV Govindan said that the opposition tried to turn the people once morest the government on the buffer zone issue but failed. He said in the press conference that the government has not made a mistake on the buffer zone issue.
