Chairman of the Administration and Justice Committee, Representative George Adwan, announced that “the committee discussed in its session the issue of the nurses’ retirement fund in Lebanon.”

He pointed out, “Everyone knows how much efforts and sacrifices the nursing body in Lebanon has made over the past years, and it is necessary, in light of the changes and changes taking place in the financial situation, to find ways to strengthen their retirement fund.”

Adwan revealed, “After the Health Committee sent its proposal and following a discussion over two sessions and in the presence of the Captain, the amendments they were demanding were approved, with the consensus of the committee following discussions and the introduction of some amendments.”

He pointed out, “The humanitarian work carried out by nurses cannot be estimated financially, but with our great moral appreciation we try to give them their financial right, and in every session we try to pass a law related to medical issues. The human being and the patient are our goal and to serve the patient who suffers under… All current difficulties.

He stated, “The second issue that the committee discussed was related to Syrian asylum, and the truth is that the committee, with all its members, is shocked by the irresponsibility with which this file is dealt with by everyone, government, officials, and agencies, especially since this issue meets with the consensus of all the Lebanese, who all say enough is enough.” “It is enough for more Syrians to come to Lebanon and the need for those who are already here to return to Syria.”

Adwan explained, “The third topic I discussed relates to what happened in the indictment session related to the former Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, especially following presenting the facts that occurred as they were a few days ago and asking the Minister of Justice and the Supreme Judicial and Inspection Council to take action.”

He said: But we did not hear anyone’s “feeling” as if what was happening in another country or that they were not concerned with it.”

He stressed, “This issue will remain the subject of weekly research and prosecution. No one believes that any case we are pursuing can end without achieving its goals. In 2017, we launched the battle of violations at the Bank of Lebanon and we reached what we have reached, and today we will continue to talk regarding judicial violations until we reach Where we need to get to.”
