Strengthening Global Partnership, Indonesia Hosts Indonesia Africa Forum

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Pahala Nugraha Mansury said that the Indonesia Africa Forum carries the theme Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063. (Special)

INDONESIA will once again host the international forum, the Indonesia Africa Forum, which will be held in Bali on 1-3 September 2024. This event will be opened directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Pahala Nugraha Mansury in Jakarta. The Indonesia Africa Forum carries the theme Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063.

“This multilateral forum aims to explore economic cooperation and opportunities, strengthen development partnerships, and improve relations between Indonesia and Africa,” he said in an official statement, Saturday (31/8).

With the theme Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063, this forum raised the subthemes of economic transformation, energy, mining, food security, health, and development cooperation. The event was attended by at least 28 heads of state or government from Africa and around 800 participants consisting of government representatives, international and regional organizations, and business people from Indonesia and Africa.

The main priorities of this meeting include food security, health security, energy security, and mineral security. In addition, there will be an exhibition of products from Indonesian state-owned enterprises, private companies, and MSMEs. Indonesia as the host of the 1955 Asia-Africa Conference, sees Africa as a strategic region for diversification.

The 2nd Indonesia Africa Forum Report from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Africa is a large market, export destination, source of supply of commodities such as oil and gas and critical minerals, as well as a target for outbound investment and expansion of Indonesia’s global influence.
