STRENGTHEN the unity and obedience of every citizen to carry out the mandate of the constitution in an effort to realize a better national and state life.

“Always maintaining unity and unity is an effort that must be prioritized to realize the integrity of this nation,” said Deputy Chair of the Indonesian MPR, Lestari Moerdijat, in a written statement, Monday (30/9), regarding the lessons that can be taken from the events of the 30 September 1965 Movement which triggered by ideological conflicts and power struggles in the country.

The results of the 2018 Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) research showed that only around 6.2% of students succeeded in answering questions correctly regarding national insight material.

Meanwhile, the results of the Kompas Research and Development survey and the Center for Indonesian Nationality Studies (PSKI) in 2022, it was found that only 28.6% of students understood Pancasila in the classroom and 21.7% of students understood it from social media.

According to Lestari, various efforts to strengthen the ideology and national values inherited by this nation’s predecessors must be consistently carried out.

The next generation of the nation, added Rerie, Lestari’s nickname, should not lose their understanding of ideology, the constitution and national values which are provisions for continuing development and realizing a better national and state life.

Moreover, stressed Rerie, who is also a legislator from Electoral District II, Central Java, the challenges of the state in the future are increasingly complex with disruption occurring in various areas of life.

According to Rerie, the presence of strong, characterful human resources (HR) based on a strong understanding of ideology and national values is very much needed to answer these challenges.

The member of the NasDem Party High Council hopes that all elements of the nation will be able to give birth to the next generation who are competitive and uphold national values, to realize unity and social justice in the nation-building process towards a just and prosperous society based on Pancasila.
