Stray: a really tough launch
It is probably one of the essential games of this summer: Stray, the game developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive, where the player embodies a wandering cat in a city of robots. But was the cuteness of the kitty enough to convince the players? According to the first measurements made on the net, it would seem so. Released yesterday, the title has already garnered over 8,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews overall on its Steam page. Still on the PC platform, it is also a record that it pulverized yesterday according to BenjiSales:
Stray has shattered the concurrent players record for any Annapurna Interactive game on Steam easily becoming its biggest PC launch ever

Stray smashed the concurrent player count record for an Annapurna Interactive game and easily became the publisher’s top PC launch:
- Stray – 62 963
- Twelve Minutes – 8,021
- Outer Wilds – 7,936
- Neon White – 3,277
- Journey – 1,757
And this despite the small problems
A successful launch for Stray, which ranks in the top 20 games that have mobilized the most players simultaneously over the past 24 hours. For a more general classification, Stray appears “only” in the top 200 of the games having mobilized the most players at a given moment. However, we will wait until this weekend to be sure, since it is generally on Sunday that players spend time on their favorite titles.
Nevertheless, the release of Stray on PC might have gone better for Annapurna and BlueTwelve Studio since the latter have confirmed the presence of stuttering on the Steam version of the title: a problem causing mini-interruptions of the game and jerks, which can quickly be annoying. In the wake of the formalization of these problems, the developers have reassured by indicating that they are in the process of making a post-launch patch in order to resolve many bugs.
However, it is worth remembering that Stray was not only released on PC. The cat game is also available since yesterday on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
