Stratford Library Book Sale: Donate Books, Spread the Love of Reading

Calling all bibliophiles! The Stratford Library is getting ready for its annual book sale, an event thatS sure to delight bookworms and bargain hunters alike. The library is inviting residents to donate their gently used books, helping to replenish their shelves with new literary treasures while supporting a fantastic cause.

This year’s sale is being spearheaded by Shelley Hall, a dedicated member of the Stratford Library Association (SLA) Board of Trustees. Hall is excited about the sale’s impact on the community, explaining, “The book sale is a beloved tradition in Stratford. It’s a splendid opportunity for people to declutter their bookshelves,find new treasures at great prices,and support the library. All proceeds from the sale go directly into our book purchase fund, which allows us to acquire fresh and diverse materials for our community.”

The library welcomes a wide range of donations, including hardcover and paperback books in both fiction and non-fiction genres, and also sound and video recordings.They’re particularly excited to recieve books in excellent condition, especially children’s books, as they’re always in high demand.

To make donating easy, the library has placed a designated book collection bin in their main lobby, conveniently located near the Main Street entrance. For larger donations requiring assistance with unloading, residents can contact the library at 203-385-4166 in advance to arrange for help.
