At Standard, there is no shortage of disappointments this season. But on the management side we want to move on.

This is particularly true for SL16 FC, which will be demoted to D1 ACFF. “It is a failure coupled with a disappointment. Now, there is no point in living in negativity because the most important thing will be to bounce back with intelligence. We will have ambitions from next season, without however openly proclaiming ourselves a candidate for a direct return to D1B”, explains Pierre Locht.

And the CEO of Standard continued: “If the possibility were to arise during the season, it would be inappropriate not to seize it but before that, we prefer to analyze things coldly, with the aim of forming a core as competitive as it is evolving, all while striving to offer an interesting game.”

As for the coach who will have to manage SL16 FC next season, he declares: “He helped out and we thank him for what he achieved. From now on, we will see the solution which might seem obvious internally but, for If no profile emerges, we will take the time to analyze the external market. The time allocated is intended to be short but sufficient to make the right decisions.”

“The U23 teams offer an undeniable advantage, we are aware of it and we will make sure to take advantage of it as much as possible. The future D1 ACFF turns out to be less sexy on paper than the Challenger Pro League but several players would be wrong to snub it “If the SL16 has gone down, it’s not by chance so sometimes it’s better to go back a little to make better leaps forward,” concludes Locht.
