Strategic cooperation between the Abu Dhabi Market and the Chinese Shenzhen Stock Exchange

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and the Chinese Shenzhen Stock Exchange announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding, during a visit by a delegation from the stock exchange to the market. This initiative comes as a continuation of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s endeavors, efforts and ongoing initiatives to strengthen relations with leading global financial institutions, including the recent agreement that the market signed with the New York Stock Exchange.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange focuses on enhancing cooperation regarding financial indices and ETFs in the two markets, in addition to exploring international opportunities available to attract cross-border financing. The two parties will explore ways to jointly promote each other, explore cross-border financing for listed companies, discuss the feasibility of cooperation with regard to fixed income instruments, and exchange experiences to develop their financial markets and enhance competencies.

These initiatives come in line with the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s strategy to attract more global investors and enhance the market’s position as a preferred and vital destination for investment within the global financial market.

Abdullah Salem Al Nuaimi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, said: “Cooperation with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange represents a new distinguished milestone in our endeavor to achieve integration with global financial markets. This memorandum of understanding establishes a framework to enhance cooperation and innovation, and opens new horizons for investors and dealers in mainland China.”

Tang Rui, Executive Vice President of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, said: “By signing the memorandum of understanding, the two financial markets will deepen cooperation and implement practical cooperation in market development, cross-border services and products, cross-border financing mechanism, exchange of experiences and mutual learning, among other areas, setting a role model.” Towards openness and cooperation in the Chinese-Emirati capital market.”
