Hazel Johana Mejía Traña, 36, found lifeless on June 7 in the Sabana Grande sector of the comarca, District Six of Managua, was strangled.
This is stated in the forensic medical opinion delivered by the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) to the bereaved family of the woman, who disappeared from her home in Las Américas 2 on the night of June 5.

The medical report indicates that Hazel Mejía died of mechanical suffocation following being strangled, according to the results of the autopsy carried out in forensic medicine.
Mejía was found half buried in the place known as La Montañita in the Sabana Grande region, jurisdiction of Managua.
Carried away by van
One week following the discovery of the body of Hazel Mejía, the Police have as their main clue for the clarification of the crime the videos from security cameras of businesses located in the La Subasta sector.
On the night of June 5, Mejía boarded a car driven by a man of unknown identity, according to videos in the possession of police investigators.

The characteristics of the car and the man have not been revealed by the Police so as not to hinder the investigations, although they are fully identified in the security camera videos, indicated a source linked to the investigations.
