Straka achieves improvement and Tour finals in Delaware

On the final day of the second play-off tournament on the PGA tour in Delaware, golfer Sepp Straka made another leap forward to finish 28th.

The Austrian improved thanks to another round of 68. Straka, who was second in Memphis a week ago, had a top result in Wilmington on the first two days with 72 strokes each. The American Patrick Cantlay defended his title with 270 strokes, ten less than Straka.

The 30-year-old won ahead of his compatriot Scott Stallings (271), world number one Scottie Scheffler and Olympic champion Xander Schauffele (both USA/273). Cantlay received $2.7 million for his eighth hit on the US tour. Starting Thursday, the Tour Championship in Atlanta will be the finale for the top 30 pros – including Straka – in the FedExCup rankings. Cantlay is the defending champion here too. Before the finale, Scheffler is ahead of Cantlay and Will Zalatoris (USA) at the top of the overall standings.
