Heinz-Christian Strache wants the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Economic and Corruption (WKStA) to stop the last investigations into the Casinos affair directed against him. He informed the authority of this in an unusual way, namely by personal letter without legal assistance, as reported by the “Kurier”. It is about two strands in the Casinos file regarding a donation to an FP-affiliated club or about alleged job swapping at Casinos Austria.
The former Vice-Chancellor protests his innocence: “To be honest, I have no idea where there are any suspicions against me.” Whatever the WKStA decides, he does not want to spend money on a lawyer for the time being. You have to “unfortunately also think economically with something like that,” Strache writes to the authority. In general, the former FPÖ leader now seems a bit fatalistic: “I don’t really care whether I should be accused of something again at some point.” Because he already has the damage.
