“Ordinary and edgy opposition”

Preparations have therefore been started “with important personalities” for a new run in the Vienna election. The aim is to “finally ensure a powerful opposition with a clear, liberal foundation of values in the state parliament in Vienna and to make the city of Vienna a safe and livable city once more with a proper reform plan,” it said.
In the 2020 Vienna municipal council election, Strache’s Alliance for Austria (DAÖ) only got 3.27 percent and thus clearly failed to meet the five percent hurdle. A run in the local council elections in Graz in 2021 was also unsuccessful.
