Former sex film star Stormy Daniels is expected in New York court today to testify before Donald Trump in the former US president’s criminal trial, US media reports.
The actress, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was paid $130,000 at the end of the 2016 campaign to not disclose a sexual relationship she claims she had with Donald Trump in 2006, a cover-up payment that is at the center of her case.
Stormy Daniels is expected to be sworn in and testify for possibly several hours in the courtroom where the hearing is underway, while Donald Trump, who accuses her of lying, will sit a few feet away in his seat accused.
In a somber tone, Donald Trump entered the courtroom shortly before 09:30 local time, as he does every day.
