There are five regions subject to the orange weather alert on Thursday 3 October: Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche and Umbria. For another 13 (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche and Abruzzo, Lazio, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Sardinia and Basilicata) the yellow alert has been issued. In Livorno and Massa Marittima, schools of all levels remained closed, with lessons suspended only in high school in the Grosseto area.

Specifically, from the early hours of today, widespread rainfall is expected, including showers or thunderstorms, over Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, Lazio and Abruzzo and Molise, especially western sectors, subsequently extending to Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Campania. These phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.
