Storm Lilian swept over the waters of the Limfjord

Here they reached full storm in the average wind and hurricane strength in the gusts and were quite close to the record set earlier in the day in Thorsminde. Here, the strongest gust of wind in a summer month in 34 years was measured at 35.2 m/s. In Rønbjerg, 34.5 m/s was the highest measured wind speed.

The strong wind disturbed traffic in several places, including on Thyholm, where the Oddesund Bridge was closed for a long time because a scaffolding had been blown down from the bridge.

On Mors it was the Sallingsund Bridge that was affected by the wind, but no more than that the bridge was open to traffic; however, wind-sensitive vehicles were asked not to cross the bridge while the storm was at its height.

Also on Mors, the Culture Meeting had to go to sleep for a few hours, because the organizers deemed it too dangerous to carry out the full program on Friday evening. There was both concern that trees would fall and that the tents would succumb to the storm. The last concern turned out to be well-founded, because the Network Tent was simply torn to pieces by the wind.

However, the cultural meeting started again at 8 p.m., albeit with a slightly reduced programme.

From the head of duty Christian Tilsted at the North Jutland Police, it is said that the police were very busy from around 4 to 7 p.m. There were reports of fallen trees throughout the police district, on the E39 motorway a light trailer had been taken by the wind and had overturned on its side. Subsequently, the wind took the trailer, which had to be captured before the motorway could be opened to traffic again.

At the Dyrskuepladsen in Skalborg, several of the tents that will house the DHL Relay next week were blown down by the wind, so the organizers have cleaning and rebuilding work to do in the coming days.

The most fatal was a woman in Nibe who fell in the wind and suffered some bleeding in the fall. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

And then, just as suddenly as the storm came, it disappeared again with Skagen as the last stop over land.
