According to information from 7sur7, part of the roof of terminal A at Zaventem airport came off due to the violent gusts.
Air traffic was therefore interrupted because of the danger involved. A security perimeter has been established on the tarmac and in the building.
Brussels Airport confirmed the information on Twitter: “Current weather conditions make operations dangerous. Therefore, no flights are currently departing.”
The airport advises travelers to contact their airline for further information.
