Storm Anthony: Severe Weather Conditions Expected to Impact Dublin and Surrounding Areas

Dublin: Warning that “Storm Anthony” which has been continuing since last night in different parts of the country will significantly affect people’s lives till today. With rain and wind expected to continue over the next few days, the Met has warned that the unexpected change of weather might ‘inundate’ travel and events over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Heavy rain has been falling in various parts of the country, including the capital city Dublin, since early this morning.

The Met has issued two status yellow rain warnings and one status yellow wind warning,

Early rain warnings have been issued for Connacht and counties Clare and Tipperary.

A second rain warning is in effect for the province of Leinster and the two counties of Monaghan and Cavan.Heavy rain is expected everywhere, which might lead to spot flooding and difficult travel conditions.

A wind warning for ‘Storm Anthony’ by the National Weather Service is also in place for Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Wexford from 4am to 12pm.

Met Eireann said strong north to north-westerly gusts of up to 110 were expected. .

The UK Met Office has also issued a yellow warning for Northern Ireland from midnight to midday tonight.
