After a Friday with high temperatures and a lot of wind in the city of Córdoba, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) announced a change in the thermal for the day before the runoff.

In this framework, the agency maintains a storm alert for the eastern province, while another wind alert is in effect for the entire territory of Córdoba.

Both warnings will remain in place throughout Saturday, the SMN said.

For this one Saturday, the SMN announced a maximum temperature of 25°C and a minimum of 15°C. Storms are not ruled out for the early morning, which would arrive accompanied by strong gusts of wind of between 60 and 69 kilometers per hour. In fact, a yellow alert for this last phenomenon.

The yellow level alert implies “possible meteorological phenomena with the potential for damage and risk of momentary interruption of daily activities.” Given this, the SMN issued the following recommendations:

  • Avoid outdoor activities.
  • Secure items that might fly away.
  • Stay informed by authorities.
  • Always have an emergency backpack ready with a flashlight, radio, documents and telephone.

Strong winds in Córdoba: recommendations from the Highway Police

  • Given the loss of visibility due to suspended dust, I reduced my speed without braking on the road or shoulder.
  • Increase the distance with other vehicles
  • If you stop, move as far away from the shoulder as possible and look for a safe place until visibility improves. Beacons should only be used if you are stopped.
  • Respect the instructions provided by Highway Police personnel or any other authority that works for safety and prevention.
