The Graz derby in the round of 16 of the cup on October 19 will kick off at 6 p.m. The ORF broadcasts the game live. While quick agreements might be reached in all cup matches, the Graz clubs and the ÖFB fought hard until the very end as to exactly what the modalities of the event should look like. Safety is the top priority. GAK club manager Matthias Dielacher: “In the first phase of the sale, our subscribers and members have the right of first refusal. The remaining tickets will then be offered in open sale.” Exactly when the tickets will be available will be announced shortly.
What is certain is that the north curve will be left to the annex of the city rivals. “Sturm will sell these tickets to the fans himself. That has been agreed,” explains Dielacher. It is still unclear how many fans will be admitted to sectors 9 to 13. And the marches of the fan groups must also take place separately. The GAK fans go through the Münzgrabenstraße to the stadium, the Sturm supporters through the Conrad-von-Hötzendorfstraße.
Commuters should already think regarding a solution how to get home. In terms of traffic, it becomes a challenge when both exit roads are blocked by football fans. The police are said to be well prepared for the Graz derby in all respects.
