October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is also an opportunity to highlight the stories of those living with cancer, whether they are patients, relatives or caregivers.
These stories, sometimes painful, are also filled with hope, resilience and humanity.
Dr. Toledano, from the Raphaël Institute, focuses on integrative health to better support patients with chronic illnesses. The objective? Better support these patients. The holistic approach to l’Institut Raphael provides support to both patients and caregivers. Support is not limited to the illness itself, but also encompasses emotional, mental and physical well-being.
DisLilie, a sharing and support site
Nathalie (Lilie), for her part, fought leukemia and underwent a stem cell transplant following a relapse. Now in remission, she decided to create Dislilie, a collaborative site around leukemiadedicated to patients and their caregivers.
She imagined this space as a place of exchange where everyone can share their well-being tips and find answers to their questions regarding leukemia and cancer more generally.

The role of relatives and caregivers
My mother, a nurse, supported many cancer patients and loved ones. Today, she shares her experiences with us and offers us her recommendations for being an effective caregiver. For her, it is essential to find the right balance in support, to invest while taking care of yourself and to preserve yourself.
Pink October is an awareness campaign. It is also a month to celebrate the life, hope and resilience of all those affected by cancer.
Each story is unique, but all are united by the same desire: to live fully, despite everything.
