A TENAA certification sheds light on a list of features belonging to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. According to the document, Samsung’s next flagship might land with a minimum storage capacity of 256 GB, instead of 128 GB for its predecessor.
The next two months should be punctuated by ultimate Galaxy S23 leaks. The three new high-end smartphones from Samsung – Galaxy S23, S23 Plus et S23 Utra – are indeed expected at the beginning of Februaryor even at the end of January, and remain today under the fire of the media spotlight.
Moreover, one event in particular generally precedes marketing: certification by an organization. This is good, since the Galaxy S23 Ultra has been spotted on the side of the Chinese body, TENAA. The opportunity to take a look at a list of technical characteristics highlighted by My Fix Guide.
Tiny weight difference
This overview allows above all to corroborate previous leaks, but also to discover new elements. For example, the document mentions a 6.8-inch screen with a definition of 3088 x 1440 pixels. The indiscretions had hitherto only rarely addressed these points, which would therefore not change from one year to another.
In terms of dimensions, TENAA agrees with the predictions of Ice Universe, which bet on the following measurements: 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9 mm. The weight might rise to 233 grams, a very slight gain compared to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, listed at 229 grams. In practice, this should not be felt.
256 GB storage minimum?
Interesting fact: the Galaxy S23 Ultra might land with an increased minimum storage configuration. If its predecessor started with a minimum of 128 GB of storage, the S23 Ultra would immediately target 258 GB (with options of 512 GB and 1 TB), coupled with 8 or 12 GB of RAM.
This change might seem insignificant at first sight, whereas the idea would be to have a strong impact on the product. Indeed, offering a minimum capacity of 256 GB of storage by default might have an effect on the entry price of the phone. Samsung might then “disguise” a price increase linked to inflation via this little commercial pirouette.
It is however necessary to wait for the annual conference of the Korean manufacturer to have the heart net.
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S23 would be able to capture 8K video footage at a higher frame rate. It would also offer more detailed shots than its predecessor.
