The Unión Tranviarios Automotor (UTA) announced on Monday followingnoon a collective strike in Neuquén since midnight. «The agreement was broken, in assembly it was decided to continue with the strike. The companions do not trust that it is paid. Until the difference is deposited, no one leaves. They can no longer stand this situation, ”Javier Soto, secretary general of the UTA, confirmed last night to this medium.
This morning, Soto reaffirmed the continuity of the strike until the money is credited to the accounts. He stressed that the leadership sought to reach an agreement, but that the mistrust of the drivers is understandable. He explained that, currently, they demand the payment of an increase of 27%, which represents between 35 to 40 thousand pesos.
The leader pointed out that the measure will affect in principle only Autobuses Neuquén. So Pehuenche and Ko-Ko will work normally.
Claudio Coronel, deputy secretary of UTA Neuquén explained that the force measure is carried out because a salary agreement signed at the national level was not respected.
He deepened that the joint agreement was for an update of 21%, then 27 and so on until reaching 50%. «A part was paid, but now when they go to collect the workers they are with the old scale. I don’t know how to face the increase,” said Coronel.
He noted that from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., they held a meeting with businessmen and representatives of the provincial government, “but they throw the ball between them”. Later there was another meeting, with a principle of agreement but finally it did not prosper since it was rejected in the assembly.
