Stop showing political content from Instagram and threads

Facebook owner Meta has stopped automatically showing political content on its social sharing application Instagram and microblogging platform Threads, but users will be able to see the content following changing the settings.

Both Instagram and Threads confirmed in blog posts that political content will no longer appear by default on both platforms.

However, users will be able to view political content following changing the settings on both platforms, the post said.

Metta has stopped showing political content on both platforms in view of the presidential elections in the United States in November this year, but following changing the settings, American users will also be able to see all kinds of political content.

The company defines political content as discussing election topics, government, policy and social issues from a political perspective, and users around the world will automatically stop seeing political content in the coming days.

Till now, both the platforms used to show political content to the user based on their algorithm, but now political content will be visible on Instagram and threads only following changing the settings and allowing the platforms.

However, Metta did not immediately make such a change on the world’s largest social website Facebook, but it is likely to be changed on it as well.
