This Saturday, around 11 a.m., stones from a hill fell onto the Chaussée des Forges in Huy, near the Château de La Mostée. The national 641 located at the exit of the town of Bassinia in the direction of Marchin was closed in both directions by the Hutoise police who descended on the scene.
Stones fell on both lanes of traffic. “The SPW was informed of the facts, indicates Éric Dosogne, acting mayor of Huy. Both the road and the hill belong to the SPW.”
The mayor is not optimistic about a rapid reopening of the national road. “We can still see some unstable elements. I see that some are overhanging and could also fall.”
Diversions have been put in place and traffic is completely prohibited in the area. Huy police and firefighters from the Hemeco zone went to the scene. The location is secure, but the stones are still on the road today.
